Cool shoes!

Have you ever felt lazy to go to a gym because of its monotonous schedule? Skechers suddenly released a new line of shoes that are specially designed to fit a person’s shoe and exercise the muslces in our feet. It also helps burn calories faster even while walking. It may look funny but I think it’s actually good and it helps increase height!

So does this mean we should ditch the treadmills and wear the shoe? I do think treadmill is a good but expensive investment. But the shoe wears and tears so it’s up to you readers to decide.

Most of us can’t live without internet…

I sometimes think that people love to do only one thing. And this one thing actually produces a lot of other outcomes but the source is undoubtedly the same. People live for communication. Besides survival, communication is the other major component in a person’s life. A person besides having to eat and excrete what he has eaten also talks most of the day. I am sure that when the first caveman appeared, the first thing he did was look for another cavemen and “grunt” alongside with him and probably chat about the weather. There will be awkward grunts but they’ll be grunting or “talking”all the same.

Man cannot really live alone. And now at this modern age, we have pursued communication’s extremes and now we can chat with a friend who is thousands of miles away via the internet or voice over internet protocol services while using a network with good DSL Service reviews. See how grunting has evolved? From telegrams to telephones to cell phones, the technology is definitely changing and communication is one of the major aspects of this.

I wonder what’s next. Do you think there could be a talking robot now?

Home theatre is awesome…

I wish I had a mini-movie house inside my home. I remember reading a comic story in Archie comics about how little Veronica would always have fun at home while the kids hang out in school. How could Little Ronnie not have fun when she has a huge movie theater inside her own home that’s complete with popcorn, plush and comfy chairs and big screen?

But realistically speaking, unless you are a millionaire or billionaire of course, you cannot install a movie theatre inside your home. Your best bet is to get a home theatre system that has good sounds and visuals. So you better have a super neat flat lcd screen that is up to date with technology like HDMI. Superb speakers are needed and if you can get a discount satellite speaker set then that is definitely better! Then you need a homemade popcorn maker, a good movie and you’re set!!

Think about the benefits of a home movie theatre. It’s a good investment since you might use it everyday for 5 or more years and get instant access to movies! There are convenient rentals out there and you have no need to worry about “personal” space inside your own home.

Sims 3 stuff…

The Sims 3 has great lasting gameplay! Up to now, gamers still cannot let go of their Sims’ lives because of the thousands of stories one can tell and thousands of objects to buy. You can create a story more! But one of the longest things in the gameplay is actually the start: decorating your Sims and their houses. It’s actually very enjoyable choosing the right color of dress or buying the coziest outdoor chairs for one’s sim. After looking stylish and all, your sim is off to a real world! Oh so much like a son/daughter!
No wonder why everyone’s still hooked. You are, aren’t you?

Personalized tote bag!

My friend just recently returned to China and she confronted me with the biggest eyes I’ve ever seen. There was raw determination in her eyes and she told me, “let’s get a move on and ditch the plastic. Let’s go green!”

I was undoubtedly confused and perplexed. She explained that China stores do not give out plastic bags to customers and buyers have to rely on bringing their own tote bag for their shopping and groceries. It was a plan to be environment-friendy and to help mother nature.

I agreed, but of course the bags still have to be fashionable and it could be a personalized tote bag right?

Summer Activities

Now that our little Yuna’s school is over we would like her to be involved in some summer activities. My first option for her is ballet. I really want her to take ballet classes. Also some other summer activities I’d like her to join are sports one like swimming, soccer and softball. Learning to play a new music instrument over the summer doesn’t sound bad either. She can take guitar lessons and piano lessons. There’s just so many options to choose from and I’m sure my little one will have a blast this summer.

Oh my! Sims 3 was leaked!

I was confused for several days coz some peole said it’s out but when we checked it in the store we found out that it won’t be out until the 2nd of June.  Since we heard about the rumor that the game was leaked three weeks before the official release date, out of curiosity, we checked it out in torrent site particularly in thepiratebay.com. We downloaded the files overnight and it works perfect hehehe. Don’t get me wrong… I love the game so much. I’ve been playing the game for ten years now so I’m still gonna buy the original copy on the release date. Below is an excerpt from another source who said that leaked wasn’t true?

The Sims 3 files posted on The Pirate’s Bay are just under 5GB total and come from a user listed as “lordofwhee.” As of this posting, nearly 750 people had downloaded the files.

“‘Cause I love all of you so very much, I present The Sims 3,” the top of the page states. Read more.

Here is a little review about the game: The new interface is so pretty and you can put all your stuff in every corner of your sim house in different angles. Its fully 3d so your machine should have a 3d accelerator card with high speed processor. There’s a lot of beautiful items and very organized so you won’t get lost finding the stuff in buy mode. There are so much more to expect. I’m kind of excited to explore the game more.

Our new toy ~ Junior (PS3)

Two weeks ago we purchased the most popular console in the current year, the Playstation 3 80GB. We traded our old PS2 along with the games and other accessories. We didn’t actually plan to buy it but when we saw  Gamestop’s promo we decided to get it since my husband wanted and waited for it too long. He didn’t get any present on his last birthday and last christmas. And so we got the console almost half of the price. This is gonna be my early father’s day and birthday gift for him.

So what’s new in the latest version of PS3 compare to 20,30,60GB?

  • 20 GB no wifi, no card reader, tiny HDD - DISCONTINUED
  • 40 GB (PAL) no PS2 emulation at all, 2 PS2 ports, no card reader, small HDD
  • 60 GB NTSC hardware based PS2 emulation, 4 USB ports, card reader, reasonable HDD - DISCONTINUED
  • 60 GB PAL software based PS2 emulation, 4 USB ports, card reader, reasonable HDD - DISCONTINUED
  • 80 GB software based PS2 emulation, 4 USB ports, card reader, reasonable HDD - RUMORED TO BE DISCONTINUED.

Snippet of an excellent review from a PS3 user. This review is a bit long but have patience to read it. It has lots of information you need for your lower hardware PS3.

Necessary disclosure: I do not own this model. I have what used to be a 60GB model, recently upgraded to 320GB - the gold standard.

As compared to the 60GB model:
______________________________________________
+ less expensive (I paid $599 for my 60GB PS3)
+ 33% more storage
+ needs less power
+ dual shock controller (rumble)
- no memory card interfaces
- 2 USB ports vs. 4 USB ports on the 60GB
- no PS2 compatibility
______________________________________________

This model comes with an 80GB drive. This is nice because, most would agree, 80GB is more than 60GB. If you feel that the extra 20GB is a big deal, maybe you should think again. I upgraded my 60GB to 320GB because I was about to run out of space, with only 10GB or so left. One month or so later, I’m using more than 80GB already - just downloaded the Ratchet and Clank minigame from PSN and it alone needs about 3GB. My advice is to buy this model and upgrade it yourself. It’s (relatively) easy and you can find a lot of advice if you Google for it. If you are thinking about waiting and getting the 160GB model for an extra $100, don’t. $100 would buy you the 320GB drive. I used the Western Digital WD3200BEVT 320 GB Scorpio Sata 5400 Rpm 8MB 2.5 inch myself. The nice thing about upgrading your disk is that you are also going to be left with a perfectly good 80GB drive which you can place into a cheap enclosure, and the StarTech SAT2510U2 InfoSafe 2.5-Inch USB/SATA Hard Drive Enclosure worked for me. I am using the free (in my case) 60GB drive as a backup device for family photos. Digital, of course.

The lack of memory card interfaces is annoying but you can get around it. Copy your stuff to a USB drive or flash drive and… problem solved. You can then upload your things through the USB. It’s somewhat inconvenient but it’s no big deal.

My old (10 months) 60GB model has 4 USB slots and I am using all of them. One for the PS3 Eye (camera), a second has a wireless keyboard dongle, the third is where the racing wheel plugs in and the last one I use to charge controllers. Can you live with 2 slots? I suppose you can but there’s going to be some plugging/unplugging if you begin adding peripherals. I suppose you could get one of those USB ports multiplexers. They’re ugly but… it’s doable.

PS2 compatibility… can’t get it. Sorry. I don’t play PS2 games but my kids do. In fact, they just bought some Sonic game a couple of days ago. I was surprised but… de gustibus. They’re also playing Kingdom Hearts and Destroy All Humans.

This model comes with a couple of improvements over the gold standard. It burns less electricity, which is a good thing for the rain forests, keeping them cool and maybe you save a few dollars on your electric bill. And, of course you get the advanced controller.

To summarize: buy it, upgrade the drive to 320GB or larger for $100, use the 80GB disk as a backup device, get yourself a USB port multiplexer if you need more than 2, transfer your photos to flash drives to get around the missing memory card interfaces, sell your PS2 games to finance the above, enjoy your PS3.

12 Megapixel Mobile Camera!

Wow, I’m overwhelmed with what technology has become today. 12 Megapixel mobile camera? That’s awesome and totally overwhelming. I’ve been a fan of Sony Ericsson mobile phones eversince… you know why? The company of Sony Ericsson is the first who launched smartphones in the market and I think they’re the most advanced when it comes to camera features. So, anyways, Sony Ericsson announced the new Sony Ericsson Idou which has a powerful camera feature. Not only that it is the first 12 megapixel GSM cameraphone but it’s also the first device presented to ever run on the brand new open source Symbian user interface that’s still being developed by the Symbian Foundation. The 3.5-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 360 x 640 pixels, GPS and Wi-Fi and the relatively compact size are just an added bonus to that already impressive novel package.

Check out how it looks on video:

Being fit is totally cool!

I can feel the heat of summer already and I’m kind of excited about it. I’m excited to think that I can do some outdoor exercises like running at the park or just walking with my baby stroller. I’m also planning to enroll my self at fitness center just across our street. I don’t need to dream on trying some diet pills which I keep talking in my past entries. I’m not against with diet pills. I mean, it’s not totally bad at all if you take them. It’s just that, in my case, I don’t want to spend money on such things that I can actually live without. I just need to kick my butt out infront of my laptop and start working out. Yeah and I’m gonna do it…
