1st day with FFXiii

As some of you know that we are huge fans of Final Fantasy’s games for the past years. As a matter of fact, our daughter’s name are both from this game FFIX and FFX. I wanna share my husband’s point of view about this new Final Fantasy XIII.

Last night around midnight, I was one of the excited individuals who went to Gamestop to get a copy of the much awaited game called Final Fantasy XIII. A lot of gamers have been anticipating this game since its announcement almost four years ago. Final Fantasy XIII was actually released in Japan during the past holiday and since then a lot of critics from the West have been voicing their opinion on the game. Some negative opinions actually made me think twice about getting the game like how linear the game is and about the boring story line. However, I just thought that I still love great graphics and cutscenes so why not give it a try.

Well, I’ve put in a few hours on the game and so far…so good. Right now, I don’t really have a problem if the game’s too linear because in my own opinion that’s how it should be. Final Fantasy games have a deep story that you need to follow in order for you to fulfill its entertainment value. You can’t just run around and go to different places and create your own story. That’s a different game. Try Oblivion or Dragon Age which are open world games. Final Fantasy is what I want to describe as like God of War where you follow only one path but instead of the hack and slash gameplay like the latter its more on strategy and inputting commands according to the given situation.
Gameplay
The story isn’t bad either. I want to say its decent. You’re introduced to some nice looking characters who all have things to achieve and so problems arises and then your eager to know what will happen next and how the story will unfold. Boring? Who ever said that in my opinion is very wrong. And of course, let’s not forget about the gorgeous cutscenes. Oohhh….the cutscenes really bring life to the story because they are all so beautiful. Just because of the cutscenes I can say without a doubt Final Fantasy XIII is the most beautiful game I’ve ever played. I can’t say that for the other version though. On PS3 its awesome but i heard the 360 version had to suffer a little bit on graphics because of its disc limitations.

Also, before I forget, the battles are also extremely fun. It’s more fast paced and while in battle the graphics are still amazing. Unlike past Final Fantasy games, where you want to flee everytime you encounter an enemy because it gets too boring well in XIII you’ll want to keep battling because of it’s fun gameplay and nice visuals.
Overall, this game is exactly what I expected it to be. It may not be what I want it exactly to be but for now I’m more than satisfied. This game may not be for everyone especially for fans of open world games but try to understand what Final Fantasy is all about then you’ll definitely appreciate it. Now, I am looking forward to future FF games. At least I know that Square Enix is heading the right direction.

Have you ever wondered if technology needed a colon cleanser? No it’s not what you’re thinking of! I mean, it needs a thorough cleansing of its entire system because despite the huge leap toward innovation and such, we see that there are side effects too such as the laziness of people, information pollution, drastic change of cultures and lifestyle, and many more. One would wonder if what we’re doing is all for the better since despite the internet as a place for learning, students use it instead for other means and this hinders their education. So what do you say, does technology need a make over?
Just a funny thought between humans and computers

Just like a human being, computers get diseases too such as viruses, bugs and they also have the tendency to crash if they are pushed to their limits. Don’t expect a computer to run smoothly or fast when despite its big 500gb hardrive, only 1gb of free storage is left. It will crash and burn just like any human being. It is so funny that also the boundaries of humans and computers/robots are already being diminished. It’s funny and scary at the same time.
So whenever shows symptoms of viruses, just like what humans do to their acne and use acne cream, you must also install and apply the necessary medicine such as building a strong firewall or letting your anti-virus catch the criminal. Always be prepared!
I hate filthy dust that gets into my laptop

Don’t you just hate it when your computer gets dirty? For example, spots of dust that look like adult acne suddenly invade your computer monitor, you’d definitely be wanting to wipe that off! Besides maintaining personal hygiene, I believe that it’s best to be neat with whatever you do and be neat with your things especially the computer because the keyboard has actually almost the same amount of bacteria as our mouths do! Who knows what could be hiding or buried under the keys! Remember that godliness is next to cleanliness! That’s why I always have my Dust-off Cleaning Spray ^_^x
Wii is cool but the husband isn’t a fan

I remember when Nintendo Wii console was released in the market, and since then the evolution of different varieties of games can be played on that handled console including Nintendo Wii Sports which tend to be quite attractive and entertaining for the game players such the popular game Guitar Hero and Tiger Woods which as if you were playing on the field itself and used golf balls. Too bad my hubby is not a fan of Wii console. He doesn’t like the graphics. He said its sloppy. Well, we might consider buying the console in the future but not this year or next year. IDK, that depends.

Kodak Zi8 is my new pocket HD camcorder. It was a Valentine’s gift from my loving husband. You have no idea how I’ve been enjoying it since the first day we bought it from Bestbuy. It is one coolest gadget I’ve ever had. If you can remember or if you’ve been reading my blog ever since, you will know that it was on the top of my shopping spree list this year. Thinking of going back to school…
Would you like to change your career? Have a better job and a brighter future? Well, those of course depend on eduction. I would definitely love to do something better than what I’m doing right now so I always think about going back to school to get a degree and get the job that I want. Being a parent, it would not be easy for me to find time to go to school and study and at the same time care for my kids. After thinking about these issues, I thought about online universities. There are lots of online universities that will help you achieve your educational goals. Most of these online universities have different programs that regular universities offer.
Recently, I’ve been checking Western Governors University and learned about the programs the online university offers like online nursing degree, online IT degree, online management and much more. Online universities are so convenient for busy people with families like myself. Just think about all the time and money you’ll be saving as compared to going to a regular university. For sure, I have my mind straight about this. When I’m ready to go back to school, online school will be my choice.

Just a week ago, my husband and I picked up a new HDTV. We didn’t plan on buying a new TV but since it was on sale at Target we went ahead and made the purchase. It’s really not bad especially when considering how much we paid for it. Now, there are two things that we would like to buy to compliment the TV, a new TV stand and surround sound speakers. The speakers might have to wait a little since they’re a little expensive so for now we might just get a new stand. I’ve been browsing the web for affordable tv stands and fortunately they’re everywhere. Hopefully, soon I can find a good deal for some nice speakers. You all should let me know if you see some good speaker deals out there.
Some gadget shopping

As what I have said in my other blog, we went shopping last Sunday. I bought all the necessary accessories for our gadgets like this cute pink mini mice and a pink mouse pad for my laptop. Guess what brand I chose? Its from Microsoft, I did not know that they’re venturing to electronics. I also purchased 2 cans of electronic dust spray. I’ve been wanting that dust spray for like a year now. It was a nice feeling that you got all you need though I still need to buy a wireless USB for Yuna’s computer. We moved her computer table in the other side of the house which is away from the internet modem. Oh by the way, just want to brag a little, we finally got a new HDTV. Not a famous brand and the size is only 32″ but we are kind of contented and happy cos at last we have an HDTV now. Hubby said we are going to buy the big one with a nice brand next time. The husband is so happy with his new TV. He couldn’t stop playing all his PS3 games.
We have also tested the blue-ray disc of our PS3 for the 1st time. We watched the ‘Push’ movie and I can believe we’ve missed the quality of the blue-ray disc for such a long time. It was so awesome watching movie in HD. So sharp and clear. I’m loving our new TV ^_^x
On the other hand, I feel like changing my phone again. I don’t want a sociable mobile phone anymore. Right now, I only want a phone that has Mobile internet where I can blog and browse the internet. That’s it no other unnecessary stuff. Also, I want one with a bigger screen d(>w<)b
Should I Digitize Everything?

I’m planning to get a camcorder as I have said in my other blog, silayin.com, but I wonder, will it come with the necessary parts and equipment? I hope I can find a package one and what kind of memory card will it use? Maybe a better high transfer rate of micro sd card? I better research more and be careful in choosing the particular camcorder I want. I have to be technologically updated for my kids! This reminds me… should I digitize my old home videos on betamax and vhs? Oh I would want to save our memories. What a gadget freak I am ^_^
