DSLR want or need?

I know most of you know that I am really into the photography thingie. I am mostly active on Flickr where Photographers and the like unite. Its been years now that I keep saying I need a DSLR and I even keep telling all my Flickr friends about how tired I am of editing my photos to achieve a DSLR look. But, honestly, I want to think that I don’t need those digital slr cameras cos I really don’t need them lol. I think I’m not ready yet to have that such expensive camera cos I don’t have the luxury to spend much time on taking photos. I mostly use my advance point and shoot, the KodakZ710. I’ve been using it for almost 3 yrs now. It’s a great camera with almost the same function as a DSLR but the thing is you can’t attach good quality lenses. But… oh well, I’ve got my own talent where I can make my boring photos fabulously fantastic hehehe.
If given a chance this is what I want…
Actually, what I need to buy is a new tripod cos the one I have right now is broken. Not really broken but I lost that thing where you connect the camera on the top of the tripod. I like to take self-portrait photos cos that’s what I do in Flickr. I have lots of groups in Flickr whereas you submit photos according to the group’s weekly theme. But since I cant use my tripod, I’m recently inactive in Flickr but I’m busy offline.
buy or not?

I’ve always wanted to get a nice Canon camera. I really like their SLR’s. The only thing that has been stopping me from getting one is the price. They’re just too expensive. I know that they’re definitely worth the price but in my case you know, the money can be used in a much better way. Every time my husband and I try to get something like this we always change our minds in the last minute and get something we really need instead. I hope sometime we can make extra money and finally go for one.
